Things have been really slow on this Blog. Could be that less & less people are going to Connor Ranch, and that's a good thing. Mike Nielsen was my best friend about a million years ago. He was a totally different man in the 80's & 90's. I remember the day someone put the bug in his head at the Roque center in Garden Grove to start treatment centers for profit & fun. He was on a mission ever since that day, but had no financial means to start his torture centers. That was until he met & brainwashed a woman named Lillian Connor, Hence the name Connor Ranch. She financed his evil empire, and she is aware of Mike's shady practices, but could care less. She considers you all as, and I quote "next week's shopping money" She is unaware of the pregnancy and other sexual encounters, so maybe she should know. The real absolute way to destroy Mike is to hit him in the wallet. Keep spreading the word, lead people out of his treatment & sober living homes ' by hand if you must' the pain & suffering won't end till Mike is selling his homes and shut down forever. Remember people have actually died under the abuse from Mike's uncaring acts and neglect. I myself have found I have fallen ill from my post addiction, and have developed permanent heart disease.

I am a former resident. I agree that this is not a healthy place to recover. Mike is definitely a money hungry leech. Most of his staff members are felons. Many including Mike are only interested in how hot the girls are and in fucking them.
First it was the niche of pet owners being allowed to bring their pets to rehab. Then couples are accepted together. The use of laptops for internet & cell phones, as well as toting itself as providing surf lessons, golfing, tennis & boat trips to Catalina Island. Sounds like a dream rehab, right? Sure. Unless you're actually looking to RECOVER. All of these are nice perks but do not allow sufficient treatment due to basically billing clients for these services with very little actual recovery focus. Oh, did I mention that most are bull shit? No golf, tennis or surf lessons, and of course pets, couples, internet & cells are welcome. These are enticing potential clients who are not serious about their recovery enough to detach from superficial things and other distractions, leading more often than not to relapse & unsuccessful attempts at recovery.
Mike's newest pitch is his so-called "recording studio" to attract many of the struggling musicians out there (some of whom have the money to dish out, and as you will see in the following ad, sounds like a dream for any drug or alcohol-addicted musician):

What a crock. I just got out of there, and tere is NO studio, a couple of shitty guitars & a cheap piano in an OPEN room. There is no studio space, nor provided staff to go to gigs (O-KAY, like THAT is a smart move early on in your recovery anyway)... NONE of that is true! Mike just keeps looking for that niche, that unique angle that will expose his "rehab" to gain more clients.
He has great marketing, and I know of a past client with search engine knowledge that, unknowingly at the time, was asked to help beef up his internet presence in order to obtain a discount on their stay at the facility. Mike made this person's life a living hell by calling them out of therapy groups and withholding meetings so that they would fulfill their "obligation" of helping him with his marketing at the expense of their recovery! He also had another client who was facing serious criminal charges and needed the recommendation of their drug treatment program in order to minimize and/or plea bargain the charges. This client, too, had marketing knowledge, so Mike insisted that they also do internet work for him in order for him to provide documentation of their successful treatment program (which, by the way, was NOT successful, as Mike's associate, Sam, was providing this young client with drugs - hard for an addict to say no to, of course(!) - hence, he was trapped into a corner on purpose by Mike, obligating him to oblige).
STOP THIS MAN! He has ruined lives! PLEASE do your research; there are many, many more SERIOUS centers if you actually want help!!!
Apparently he is connected with state officials, which is why this place has not been shut down. Also, its not in his name, it's nin his "girlfriend" Lillian Connor's name, so he is virtually immune to prosecution.
It is only a matter of time though for him....

I was a counselor at Conner Ranch.Although the reputation of this facility has pretty much ruined my career as a counselor along with Mike Neilson sending a complaint to the CAADAC board about my ethics,can you imagine,my ethics? I still believe I did my job to the best of my ability,against all odds.My wish for all residents who went through Conner Ranch is a lifetime of recovery,serenity and happiness. As for Dr. Mike (doctor my ass)you should be ashamed of yourself,you continue to ruin any person who crosses your path personally or professionally.After working for you I wanted to run from working in treatment centers,but I refused to be one of your statistics.I learned what not to do from you and today I have the greatest job of all.I really help people and I could not of be happier.I am going to do everything in my power and work with any authority that I need to ,and hopefully you will no longer be harming people.I have been following this blog and my only regret is not speaking up sooner

I think you’re full of shit. I have investigated this man thoroughly. I am the real thing and I can track you. You’re a very sick person who wasn’t able to finish your rehab. Your disease has the best of you. Question: Why is it when I contacted over 120 clients for their follow up? There were only 11 people that complained, 6 of them later admitted to my firm afterwards that they were just angry that hey were asked to leave due to using or selling drugs in treatment, and 1 was at an AA meeting. Now if you’re sincere and not just a chronic relapsed individual print this blog. This will be blogged in my blogs in an attempt to expose you. Let’s see what you got.

sounds like he needs to start up new websites and even come up with new names every month in order to keep his reputation from being tarnished.

and then some! however, I think its Proactive to gain "proof" such as photo's of expired licenses...
Parents being Proactive and researching the director, researching the "staff" researching all of the facilities... Making unannounced visits etc...
If you inundate the "system" that controls "Rehab Centers" you will get a response. The problem is this; Michael is used to kids, or dope heads, addicts etc... also he's from the "streets" so he's a survivor who knows how to get what he needs to survive, and that includes... psychologically speaking he's still in the "homeless" mentality ( every Man for himself). I am not making excuses, just trying to rationalise, so that when you do make a concerted effort instead of thinly veiled threats of suits etc... you will know what and who and how to deal with him.
There are a plethora of things....
#1. who's dispensing Meds?
#2.Are they an RN? are they Medically Liable?
#3. how are the patients treated? ( detox)
one cocktail does not fit all; if discomfort is expressed is it addressed?
Last but not least...PAY BY CREDIT CARD! that way you can dispute the charges... if you get kicked out...
also demand a copy of any and all documents you signed!

I was there and seen more than most people have..... I still have bad dreams about this guy. I am a female that he singled out and made me feel very uncomfortable. He preyed on me knowing that I would not say anything. I saw how he handles the police, stold money/drugs. He has sexually harrassed me every day that I was there! One day I stood up to him and he let me "graduate" early (certificate and all). I spent most of my time alone with him (because he made me). I would love to go into detail about so much more but feel too scared that he would know it is me. I can't belive this place is still open, why isn't he dead yet or in jail? I will share more on a later date. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!
